By the cunning title of this email you may well have worked out that this is the Trunk mailing list email for the new album Fingerbobs. And you'd be right. It's also an invite to a sort of launch party involving pens and paper and stuff, but more about that later.
Yes, Fingerbobs, that wonderful low budget TV show with Rick Jones and his little menagerie of clever paper hand puppets had some lovely music and songs. And none of it has been issued until now. You can read about it here if you so wish: http://www.trunkrecords.com/turntable/fingerbobs.shtml
Advance copies on CD and limited LP are available now to the Trunk mailing list. I think there are about 650 vinyl. It might be 653 or something. Anyway, it's now here and will not be available in the shops for a couple of weeks. Prices are £10 for the LP inc postage, £5 for the CD inc postage. Which seems a bit like a price form the early 1970s too. Anyway, If you'd like one (or more) copies please follow these instructions carefully:
1) decide what you want, and find the correct combination of £10 and £5 notes.
2) get yourself a piece of paper, about A4 size, on which you must write your name, address, what you'd like (ie an LP, or CD etc).
3) please then draw a picture of a TV character from your childhood on the piece of paper. For example, it could be Champion The Wonder Horse, Andy Pandy, a flump, one of the wheelies, you get the idea. It doesn't matter how bad or good this drawing is, just have a go. Some people slightly cheat and get their kids to have a go, but this is always more than acceptable, and often better.
4) Then wrap your money in the paper, put it in an envelope and please send it here:

If you are abroad and want a copy, please drop me an email and we'll work something out. However, if you are abroad it's unlikely you'll make it to the next groovy Trunk night, which is partly Christmas and partly Vision On and partly Fingerbobs. And with Corinne from Swing Out Sister.
It's on 7th December, at The Drop Bar, below the Three Crowns on Stoke Newington Church Street, London N16. It starts at 8pm, it's free to get in, we will be playing old Vision On shows, drinking, drawing, making things (which will include Fingermice as we have an original template) and Jonny will be playing music. Sounds quite good to me. I'm going. There's a link to a flyer here: http://twitpic.com/7lpplh
Anyway, thank you as always for listening. Another email will follow shortly with news of some Christmas things. How exciting.
