Good morning, I hope you are well and enjoying the Olympics as much as I am. In fact I have tickets for the synchronised swimming tomorrow. Not sure if I'm going to use them yet or not as it looks far more scary than I remember.

Anyway, I bring you news of a very small new Trunk release. It's called Refined Lard. Some would call it a sampler as it features a very wide array of music and is very inexpensive. There are 30 tracks in all, culled from various parts of the Trunk catalogue. Some have just been digitally issued in recent months, others never issued until now. So, we have an unreleased Kirchin cue, some Terry Thomas, some rare vocal jazz, early electronics, a touch of pastoral space madness, a bit of folk, some kids singing, a killer Rolf Harris number and even an unrelased Dirty Fan Male recording. The CD comes in a card slipcase with full colour artwork based on the Sainsbury's Refined Lard packet of the 1960s. I put it together two weeks ago and will apologise in advance for some slight changes in volume here and there due to the fact my remastering man is on hols and I just couldn't wait.

The CD including postage is £5. If you would like one here is what you have to do.

Get yourself a five pound note. Also get a piece of paper. On the paper please write 1) your name 2) your address and 3) please quickly scribble / draw / paint a picture of your favourite packet. This is obviously open to broad interpretation.

Wrap the £5 in the piece of paper, put it all in an envelope and then send it here:

Lardy Des, State 51, 8-10 Rhoda Street, London E2 7EF.

The CD may well be limited to the one pressing I have just made, so about 900 and something copies only. It is supposed to go on general sale in about a month, but I have another very special album in the pipleine so that may not happen at all. And there may well be another email next week about a new tee shirt, but that all depends on how well the tee shirt turns out.

Please note that if you send the £5 and your piece of paper in a large envelope, make sure you put a Large Letter stamp on it, as otherwise the post office people get really funny and don't deliver it and keep it and it goes missing and everyone gets a bit upset.

And finally, if you are abroad and would like a Refined Lard CD, please drop me an email and we'll work something super out.

Best wishes and thanks for listening

Jonny
