My apoloigies to any Scottish people I may have offended with my email heading but it's the first thing that came into my mind and it seemed suitable. I believe the phrase means something like "Oh yes, just now". Well just now the brand new Cults Percussion Ensemble album has arrived. I am listing to Side One as I write and it is quite lovely. In short is was a privately pressed album made in 1978 by a group of very talented 14 year old Scottish lassies under the tuition of a legendary percussion master. They toured the UK and Europe playing their delightful self-penned percussion numbers and were asked for records, so they made one. And one of the girlsd was Evelyn Glennie, future deaf global percussion star. Well this is that very album. Bloody lovely it is too. Sort of Carl Orff meets early Elfman meets more lovely things. Anyway, it is on album and CD. There are exactly 803 copies on vinyl. If you would like an advance copy of the album, it is now available exclusively to the Trunk mailing list. Prices for this mailing are £10 for the LP inc postage, £5 for the CD inc postage. Which is way too cheap if you ak me. Anyway, If you'd like to get yourself a copy (or copies) please follow these simple instructions carefully:
1) decide what you want, and find the correct combination of £10 and £5 notes.
2) get yourself a piece of paper, about A4 size, on which you must write your name, address, what you'd like (ie an LP, or CD etc).
3) please then draw a picture of something Scottish. This could be Billy Connolly, a haggis or the Loch Ness Monster. Or Rod Stewart's tartan outfit from the mid 1970s. You choose. It doesn't matter how quick, bad or good this drawing is, just have a go. There is a prize awarded for the best one. 4) Then wrap your money in the paper, put it in an envelope and please send to the name and new address below:
