Now I'm not going to make a habit of emailing the Trunk mailing list every Friday, but I just want to keep you informed of the #50pFriday thing that I started last week. Well, it's still ongoing, it's Friday, and today is the 50p release is the first Bernard Cribbins album. You can stop laughing right now and learn that it's actually a most excellent album and contains a number of total classics, including a killer version of Hoagy Carmichael's "My Resistance Is Low" that was first played to me by Fred of Lemon Jelly about 15 years ago and has been a regular part of my daft sets since then. The most excellent and wonderfully period "Gossip Calypso" is also part of the album, as is a clever song about Fishing. But top of the pile is Bernard's quite astounding version of "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face" which, incidentally, was Danny Baker's top choice on Desert Island Discs. The album was also produced and co written by Ted Dicks, the man who penned the Catweazle theme. And as it's cold outside today I'll be wearing pretty much the same as Bernard is on the front cover. I'll shut up about it now. Here is a link.

Have an excellent weekend
