Good morning, today's #50pFriday is the Forbidden Planet Soundtrack. If you don't have this mindblowing score of "electronic tonalities" (deemed to be too strange, it was not allowed to be called the soundtrack at the time) then you really do need to hear it. Made by a free thinking super hip avant garde husband and wife team out of homemade circuits, the future and space never sounded better. I did a radio show about it last week and I heard an interview with the man who made all the sounds for Star Wars (Episode IV) and he said that the noise he made for that bit when Obe Wan Kinobe turns off the tractor beam in the Death Star is "pure Forbidden Planet".

A link is here, where you will also find all the the #50pFriday albums that have been available over the last month too.

Have an excellent bank holiday. Especially if you work in a bank.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
