Hello. I have been away on holiday. In France. Although the roudy behaviour of my two young offspring made me wonder sometimes if it was actually a holiday and not just a strange foreign torture event thing they'd decided to take me on.
All is nearly now back to normal here at Trunk, and so I have resumed the #50pFriday fun.
Today it's an album of very early Morricone, which features his awesome work with Helen Merrill, one of my favourite vocalists of all time. This is rarely heard music, and certainly has some superb moments. You can download it here.
On the same page you'll also find the other two albums that were available this month, the Godzilla SFX and Jacques Tati scores, plus a super duper little Sacha Distel Bossa Nova EP. I bet you weren't expecting to hear "Sacha Distel" so early on a Friday, but a bit of slimey nostalgia is good at anytime if you ak me.
Thanks for listening, and I'll have more news of groovy things shortly.
Jonny
