Hello, it's Friday and therefore I have another daft musical #50pFriday offering. Today it's the mindboggling work of Russ Garcia (who sadly passed away in November last year). For me one of his greatest works was Fantastica, an orchestral journey into space. With the help of clever but strange inventor man called Ted Keep, Garcia's orchestra was helped on it's journey with a series of peculiar synthesisers that Keep had made. So the album is filled with strange, otherwordly noises which is exactly what you'd expect in outer space.
There is a link here, and of course as it's the last Friday in the month, the other #50pFriday offers from September will also be found on the page. And I think the Morricone one is back working.
Finally, if you are after a Classroom Projects vinyl we did run out, but a trip to the warehouse have provided some more, which are now in Ye Old Trunk Shoppe. The album has managed to get a 5 star review in Mojo (yes!) and apparently there is a feature in this weekend's Observer about it too.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
