Good morning, I hope all is groovy. It's very cold here so today I thought I'd warm up proceedings by offering up as the #50pFriday album the classic soundtrack to Jamaican-set super spy movie Dr. No. As we all know this was the first Bond movie and for me has one of the most interesting scores of them all, with Monty Norman not just writing the classic theme (based on a riff from a song he'd written years earlier) but also coming up with some abstract noise and bringing in some killer Jamaican artists to make it truly authentic. An awesome record. Here is a link.
Over the next few weeks I will be loading up ye Olde Trunk shoppe with some festive madness so I'll keep you informed of the joys to be had. Or not as the case may be.
And if you have not discoverd the insane but musically moving delights of Palmer Rockey, the LP and CD can now be found here.
Thanks for listening.
Jonny
