Hello, I hope all is groovy.

First up is today's 50pFriday album, which is the first ever West Coast surfing soundtrack. Written for the early Bruce Brown surfing documentary Slippery When Wet, this is a classic for lots of reasons, none of which I am going to tell you about. The super cool album can be found here, along with the other 50p albums from May.

There is also the all new Trunk release to talk about. This was supposed to be the Bruce Lacey album but that's been dealyed, so instead it's a Trunk sampler called Funny Old Shit. I must apologies for the title but it came about because when people who are not aware of the music I issue I ask what kind of music I issue, I normally say something along the lines of "funny old shit". This 16 track album is on vinyl and CD, and arrives here in the UK next week. I am away next week but I thought I'd get the mailout to you so the day I get back I can start sending out the album. You can read about it here, but muscially it runs all the way from important classical music, through avant-garde to comedy, odd stuff, post punk, electronics, film music and more besides. This is Volume One, several more with guest compilers are planned.

If you would like one of these shit albums then please follow these simple instructions:

1) Decide which format you would like - I have LPs and CDs. The LP is £10 inc postage, the CD £5 inc postage. As usual this is stupidly cheap.

2) Find yourself the correct note(s) - £5, £10 etc, obviously if you want two LPs it's £20 etc.

3) Find yourself a piece of paper, upon which you must write i) your name, ii) your address, and iii) what format(s) you would like.

4) At the bottom of the paper draw something small and a bit shit. This could be as good or as bad as you like.

5) Finally wrap your money up in the paper, put it in an envelope and send it here:

If you are abroad please drop me a line and we'll sort something out.

Please note, as of tonight it is half term and I am being dragged off, kicking and screaming with my kids to somewhere strange for a few days. The LPs and CDs will get mailed out the following week so please don't think you have been forgotten.

I'm now off to get my bikini line waxed and if you are about this evening somewhere in London Town, I'm playing at the free launch party for the new book about vinyl geeks called Adventures In Record Collecting. It's a most impressive kickstarter-funded book that has beautiful photos in it and interviews with very interesting people and also an interview with me.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
