hello, I hope all is groovy.

Last night I went down the Mildmay Club in Newington Green. I am a member of said club, it is one of the few original and pretty much untouched Working Men's Clubs left in London, where they shot all of this (over 313,000,000 people have already been there!). We had a knees up, but in a sitting down sort of way and there were no Northern Soul dancers like there were in that video. A tall, lanky middle-aged bearded man I'd not seen before was there. I spoke to him as he was wearing a Sun Ra tee shirt. We both agreed that he was possibly the first Mildmay member ever to wear a Sun Ra tee shirt to the Mildmay Working Men's Club. As a result of this brief musical chin wag, I thought a cosmic Sun Ra message was beaming in and I was reading it loud and clear, so today for the #50pFriday album we have a classic Sun Ra effort. It's called The Futurist Sounds Of Sun Ra. I prefer this earlier more exotic Sun Ra side of things. This particular album has it's own wiki page, and is available here.

Also, it was the anniversary of Eiji Tsuburaya's birth this week, he was the SFX man who made Godzilla. So I thought I'd stick the Godzilla SFX LP up again. I only found out about the Eiji anniversary because I clicked an odd google image as it looked quite interesting, and this funny google doodle join in animation thing turned up.

Tomorrow I will be at the Independent Record Fayre, along with masses of other indy labels, with a stall full of LPs, tee shirts, Original Peter bags etc. I have dug out three boxes of old LPs so far, and have found some Trunk releases I have not seen for a while that will be up for grabs. The fayre is at Spitalfields Market from 11am (the indy beer fayre is there at the same time). If you are about come and say hello, or alternatively come and be abusive.

Thanks for listening.

Jonny
