Hello, I hope all is groovy.

Today I have a fabulous #50pFriday album, one I have recently been obsessing about and boring my family to death with. In fact it is in danger of becoming the holiday soundtrack over the next two weeks as we treck around weird bits of Cornwall in our "trunks" and rubber shoes. Well I know it won't be, but I will be humming bits from it loads. Yes, this is The Beat Of My Heart, by Tony Bennett, an amazing outing of croon and cool, including some wild dextrous vocals, some amazing percussion (Sabu and chums), some breathtaking music including the title track which I have heard at least 100 times in the last week. I have taken the liberty of removing the weird military number which I felt spoilt this classic LP, and replaced it with "Rags To Riches" from Goodfellas, which has got to be worth 50p on its own. This landmark LP (with rare UK artwork) can be found here. All the other 50p albums from July are there too.

So, that's Tony Bennett. Gordon Bennett is here, and it's what I said when I was sent this really weird and ridiculous Top Of The Pops clip this week. It's simply a woman dancing to the Archies classic Sugar Sugar, but the cameraman only had a couple of things on his mind that day. Shocking. If you click the name of Glenn Marshall who posted the video, you get to his slightly sad YouTube page, with several more peculiar and often hilarous vidoes of Pan's People, Legs & Co etc, including a mental one with David Kid Jensen, a carrot and and Azymuth track. You really wonder what they were thinking, or not thinking.

I am now going on holiday. If I find myself out of signal, there will be no email next week. So you may have to spend your 50p on something else for 50p. But not sure what else you can get for 50p these days.

Thanks for listening.
