Hello, I hope all is groovy.

For the 50p album this week I have put up the album I had put up for 50p before I then took it down and replaced it with one for the VW scandal of two weeks ago. It was the soundtrack to a groundbreaking ballet suite by Bejart, with all music by Pierre Henry. I'd even found a weird short film of a classic Bejart / concrete ballet of the time, to give you a little insight into how odd it all was then, and how odd it still is now. The ballet music for 50p is based on the Orpheus myth, and can be had right here for just 50p. It's unlikely a more peculiar 50p will be spent this weekend.

I also heard this week that the legendary Brit jazz bass player Coleridge Goode had passed away. Miraculously he reached 100 year old, apparently he was still on good form up until very recently. This was the bass man who played for all sorts of amazing british jazz goups and album, the Joe Harriott ones, Michael Garrick ones, and I actually have a heap of ones made for school / music and movement classes that remain unissued. So I thought I could offer an album he appears on for 50p - this is Rising Stars. An amazing, spooky and underrated set of recording from 1964ish. It seems quite appropriate for such a sad passing. I can track down his widow through Val Wilmer (who lives up the road) and send her some flowers with any money made.

There are some new recommendations on ye Olde Trunk site, which can be seen right here. As a result of someone seeing them already, I've been sent a link to a short documentary about Michael Head, one of the artists mentioned. Gee I love you guys....

Thanks for listening.
