Hello, I hope all is well.

I heard the news yesterday that Colin Welland, that great screenwriter and actor had died on Nov 2nd. This is the man who wrote the screenplay for Chariots Of Fire and told everyone at the Oscars that "The British were coming". He also won a Bafta for his performace in Kes, and truly remarkable and gutwrenching movie that I watched again last night. In fact I started watching it last night on Youtube and realised that is was in Polish. So I searched for another British version and found it, and in hi def too. I also thought it would be appropriate to put up Kes as the #50pFriday album. Beautiful music by John Cameron, flute and penny whistle by Harold McNair. This magical soundtrack can be found here.

I tried to find footage of McNair, but I could find none at all (if you knwo where there is some, pelase tell). So instead here is a link to Kes. It sure is grim, but also astonishing on many levels. It's also the first role Brian Glover played in a film. If you just want to see his legendary Man Utd V Spurs scene from the film it can be watched here.

I had another #50pFriday album also prepared, Parole E Musica, one of the most magical and romantic LPs of all time, sung by Helen Merrill with music by Umiliani. But I couldn't remember if I'd put it up for 50p in the past or not, and it's the sort of thing I would offer in the Autumn as it's quite a late night Autumnal LP. Anyway, it can be found here, with Kes.

I now have to travel to Spitalifields to rummage in record boxes for the black gold. Anything insteresting or vaguley smutty found will be posted on instagram (@jonnytrunk). Talking of smut, there will be a Dirty Fan Male announcement next week.

Thanks for listening
