hello, I hope all is groovy.

I have woken up this morning to a herd of mad Black Friday emails to my inbox, and an announcement on Radio 4 (thought for the day) that a Right Rev someone was promoting Buy Nothing Day (but he did say he was up for new Adele LP), and I remembered watching this compilation of crazed Black Friday "shopping".

So, I thought about releasing to the new Trunk album early next week instead, and decided that a suitable #50pFriday for Black Friday and all its madness would be Spike Jones, because he's properly mad. He's also quite unavoidable if you are into daft music as he was really the first to exploit it all - as he wisely put it, he was "a decomposer" of music. You can read about him here and there is documentary here, note that instead of a conductor's baton he uses a gun. Some of his kooky noises are even a bit like techno in terms of their pecussive precision.

Anyway, his crazy album for just 50p is here, and it includes the classic Pimple And Braces, a track I play out quite a lot. In fact you could play just about any track over any really mad footage of Black Friday stampeding and it would go quite well I reckon.

After last week's mailing about Man Alive, the person who made the super documentary sent me an email, and gave me a link to the infamous interview from the Man Alive episode called "The Other Half". It is an extraodinary piece of TV. It can be watched if you scroll down here on the superb Adam Curtis blog to the man with the violin. You'll be please and more likely amazed to know that the couple featured are still married.

If you have not heard from me about Dirty Fan Male it's because I'm trying to get more chairs for the venue and will be in touch shortly.

I am now about to start putting together the Christmas mix for next month. And tonight I'm comparing at the school annual quiz night, myself and another dad will be wearing black suits and looking like Ant And Dick. Or the Two Wrongies.

Thanks for listening.
