Hello, I hope all is groovy. Things are pretty alright here, although my unwell child is much better but has now lost his voice, which is quite sweet actually.

This week for the #50pFriday there is a funny thing going on. This all happened because of a super email I had from radio goddess Cerys yesterday. There is a chance she may well play some music from the Trunk output (from a CD she has recently come across) on her Sunday show. This is exciting and as a result there might be some kind of unusual "spike" in Trunk on-line activity this coming Sunday morning. There may not be, but I just couldn't resist thinking that anyone in the spike who actually finds ye Olde Trunk Shoppe may then stumble into the #50pFriday area and go "oh good grief it's a heap of amazing and quiet unexpected downloadable joy for just 50p an album". Part of me thinks this may never happen, but the half full part of me believes it will. So for that reason the #50pFriday section has all the albums from last week, PLUS a brand new one, which Cerys has indicated to me she likes. And this is Drum Suite. She also like the Lancaster Bomber / Nightingales track too, but you lot have already had that. Anyway, Drum Suite is an album by Art Blakey of peerless percussion and rhythmic joy, one that inlcudes a hugely influential version of Cuban Chant. I first heard the LP when I was about 16 and it is still very much with me. And it took me years and years to find a British pressing of it. Anyway, it can be found here. Also, I'm not sure Yusef Lateef's Before Dawn was ever put up as a 50p album before last week as it seems to be getting an unusual amount of attention, so thats been left there too.

Before I forget, I'd better mention that a heap of Britoxica vinyl has just arrived. I picked it up on Wednesday, so, if you do not have one, you can get one now. But do hurry, most of the short repress went abroad very fast. What I have left is here.

I got sent this video on Wednesday night, nearly wet myself and told loads of people about it yesterday. Peter Serafinowicz is a clever bugger. This is also along the same lines, not quite up there with The Vader Sessions from a few years back, but still entertaining non the less.

Today is the Spits Record Fayer and I've already had a message about "coming down and fingering a few seven inchers" which has really put me off it all, but today I can't go as I' digging about in a London toy archive. What fun.

Thaks for listening, and RIP Maurice White.
