Hello, I hope all is groovy. All is well here, apart from the fact I had a bit of an argument with my wife this morning about school bags and their whereabouts. A perfect start to this valentine weekend I think.
As a result of it being the valentine weekend I have put up the I Heart Dorothy Ashby LP for just 50p. It was her fiffth LP and was originally just called Dorothy Ashby by Dorothy Ashby, then the Europeans got hold of it and took her off the cover and added a jet set white woman and called it I Heart Dorthy Ashby. Anyway, history lesson over, it's great and it's here. I have also added the classic Trunk Valentine Jazz album too.
Staying with the subject of love I was investigating the track "Image" by Brian Bennett earlier this week. As I'm sure you know it's a classic KPM cue and is on the ten inch record that comes with the new limited edition version of The Library Book (more info about that in a short while). I was informed years ago Image was originally written for some odd kinky film, so I had a sniff about and found the track in place on Image, this Radley Metzger movie. The clip is safe to watch in terms of anything a bit rude, but there is a bit of fiddling with a flower that might start you thinking in a funny way. There are also some excellent shades present.
Today after a mass of work I am headed to the Isle Of Sheppy. I have never been there, it looks quite odd. It's a 50th Birthday party and on the menu of events for the weekend is "Birdwatching". Apparently there are Short-Eared owls, avocets and lots more, so I have to bring my binoculars.
Thanks for listening.
