hello, I hope all is groovy. I have a headache. This is quite unusual as I never get headaches, but today I have one, which woke me up very early. And no, it is not a a hangover. I blame my sinuses.

My apologies for the late arrival of last week's mailing, but there were issues with downloads that many had experienced recently that have now been ironed out. So this week's #50pFriday album a joy to get hold of. It's Blues And The Abstract Truth, a monster jazz LP from 1961 that even has its own wiki page. This all star voyage into 12 bar forms and beyond can be found here

Last night I went to the launch of Bagpuss, The Clangers and Co, the first proper exhibition of the work of Smallfilms. It is a very charming exhibition at The Museum Of Childhood, and is free from Saturday onwards. All the Smallfilms superstars are there, in the flesh (and wool, felt etc) and will be there for six months. Then the exhibition is going on tour all around the UK for three years, so millions of people will get to see these wonderful little icons of children's TV.

And if you are about in London Town this coming Monday, there is a launch of the 20,000 Leagues book / LP at Rough Trade East. I am playing underwater music and Liam Sparkes the tattooist is going to be drawing squids and that on people - not real tattoos obviously. Here is some more information.

I was in the park yesterday, talking to a couple about their dog. There are plans to get a dog here. I used to be a cat person. Here is a good dog thing, something you'd never find a cat doing.

And this is just mental. All wrong. My fave bit is about 1:40.

I am now off to Spitalfield Record Fayre. The idea this morning is to get there before the man who buys all the sort of records I would buy and then shows me what he's bought at about 9:30 when I arrive. Knowing him he's got up even earlier today.

Thanks for listening.
