Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's well groovy here. Possibly even super groovy.
This week I have been very busy putting together more Trunk releases (which are not quite ready yet) and very interesting they are too.
Also, I am heading to Greece tomorrow as it's half term, and my six year old is sooo excited he packed his little bag on Monday. But then realised he'd packed his teddies so has had to improvise with various toy sleeping partners throughout the week.
As a result of this Trunk forthcoming short Greecian trip I've found a groovy Greek related LP, originally played to me many years ago by the legendary jazz collector Sean P. Incidentally I have another Sean P thing heading our way but more about that another time. Anyway, yes, this week it's Oliver Nelson, and we have his surprisingly rare album of Pheadra soundrack covers. In other words, it's his jazzy interpretations of music from the soundtrack to Phaedra, originally penned by Mikis Theodorakis. It's bloody good. And a bit waltzy. It can be found here, and yes, I know I've still not removed any of the recent 50p Friday LPs from the site, and yes, I don't care either.
Also, as a result of being away, I have a stand in for tomorrow's OST Show on Resonance FM. It's my good chum Simon Gitter, who will be playing cues from the singing wrestler, Adrian Street. You need to see this, and oddly several people have sent the very same link to me in recent weeks. I have no idea why.
I am now off to pack my suitcase. Here's the most stupid suitcase I have ever seen.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
