Hello, this is late. Blame the people at Greedbag who were sent two emails requesting that the #50pFriday email be sent out on Friday morning but nothing was actioned. The moral of the story - if you want anything done, do it yourself. So I'm now doing it myself, and it's a Monday. So here is the unchanged email that you should have got Friday, so just imagine it's now last Friday, at about 9am....and thanks for all the emails asking if "everything was Ok" this end - yes, all is well, thanks for your concern, it is very much appreciated.

Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty good here although I am currently in a car on my way to Wales.

To Wales you ask? Yes, to the festival in Portmeirion to talk about library music. I am also doing a small library quiz tonight at 6pm. One of the quiz answers is Miri Mawr as one of my favourite library tracks of all time - "Bluebottle" by Frank Barclay - was used as the theme to this Welsh programme. I'd never seen Miri Mawr before until last night. Then I saw this and it totally blew my head off. It's like Rainbow on bad acid.

As for the #50pFriday album, today it's Victor Feldman, a British jazz genius from the UK who ran away to the USA and did much better for himself a as result. You can see him here being well groovy in the UK on the BBC. The 50p album has quite a strange name - A Taste Of Honey And A Taste Of Bossa Nova which sounds like something my six year old would say about toast toppings at breakfast. It's a great but little known LP, quite cool, quite blue, pretty  groovy and has a fine, rarely heard version of "Moon River" too. I listened yesterday and it's the perfect album for this time of year as the Summer wants to bugger off. Today's 50p album can be found here

Also, I am the new edition to this charming ten question site.

As you read this I am probably at a service station. This is a great site all about them. My fave is Forton Services (on the link), the brutal space age Top Rank one, where (rumour has it) you were greeted by people in space suits when you arrived.

Thanks for listening as always

Jonny
