good morning, I hope all is groovy. It's all groovy here.

I have just got up. Which sets me up nicely to mention the #50pFriday album which today is all about sleep. It's called Prelude to Sleeping, but the actual title is Prelude Au Sommeil, as it originates in France. Composed in 1957 by Jean-Jaques Perrey and written on an Ondioline, this is JJP's first recorded work, and was commissioned for use in asylums and care homes to aid rest. So it's perfect for a #50pFriday offering as the audiences are uncannily similar. The debut by Popcorn god JJP can be found here, along with Sooty

In other news, last night I was told of an up and coming book about Wetherspoon's Carpets. It is based on an entertaining tumblr which can be gorped at here. Goes to prove that groovy books can be about the most ridiculous things. And also, Hull is City Of Culture next year. There will be some Kirchin based events...

My morning now consists of waiting for a dog, possibly going to the Spitz Record Fayre and then popping in to the BFI. Which reminds me of a clip sent over by a mailing list member last week. The clip is from Pathe, which is a bit like the BFI. It's a clip about thatching with hair. Worth a look.

Thanks for listening and good night.
