Hello I hope you are well.
Thanks to all who turned up to Dirty Fan Male on Monday. Even Donald Trump was there.
Moving swiftly on, this is a quick mid-weeker as yesterday things happened. A video to Basil Kirchin's Silicon Chip was posted here. I also heard that the Kirchin singles are in a truck in the middle of The Channel. My tee shirt man also told me that his tee shirt heater (the one that bonds the ink to the organic cotton) is well moody and possibly on strike. So maybe more about new tees another time.
BUT, I have a new print that arrived yesterday afternoon. It's a BIG thrill for me. It's a fully licensed exact size image of the 1970 Sainsbury's Own Label Cornflake packet. Yes, a Cornflake packet. The only one they have in the Sainsbury's archive in fact. For me this is an object of almost totemic power and influence. It burned its way onto my brain in the early 1970s and has never left. I have made a closed edition of just 25, sized A3 on very high quality art stock, and one is already in my possession not going anywhere. The amazing Cornflake 1970 print can be seen and bought here, but do be aware that the photo of the print in the Trunk shop does not do it justice. A better image is on my instagram feed. And, by the way, the Sainsbury's Own Label book I made is now heading towards £100 for a crap copy. Which is bananas. Own label bananas.
Here is some other old packaging and stuff, but in record flexi form.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
