Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty groovy here - I said "hello" to Mel Brooks last night as he was in the same restaurant as the one I took my wife to for her birthday. I was going to break out into quotes / songs from Blazing Saddles, The Producers etc but I think he's heard them all before and Alan Yentob would have told me to shut up and go away.

Anyway. this weekend is the Hull City Of Culture Kirchin Weekender. As a result I have put some Kirchin in the #50pFriday section. There is more Kirchin a comin' this year, but this is a heap to be going on with - Charcoal Sketches, Quantum etc but also including a great compilation of Ivor And Basil Kirchin Band material I've called "The Biggest Little Band In The World" which is what they were known as when they performed. Some killer tunes lurking in that there album for sure. All Kirchin 50p madness can be found here.

Also this weekend is the climax of the Resonance FM fundraiser. Well some of it anyway. There is an Original Peter bag up for grabs here with a load of Trunk LPs inside. All proceeds to the charity that is Resonance FM. Loads of other stuff up for auction (including a Muppet Wicker Man poster) can be seen here

Thanks for all the links to other Savalas joy last week, I ended up watching various odd Harold Baim things like the Michael Winner aircraft carrier film and also this, which is strangely brilliant. I've seen other routines by WK&B and they are name-checked in Britxotica, but this is new routine on me.

As you read this I am now headed to Hull. On the train. With chums. For Basil. I shall send you a postcard.

Thanks for listening.
