hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty groovy here. This morning I woke up with a fascinating election. And the builders stared at 7:30am. There is also a huge amount of plaster and dust all over everything including some records.

Today there is quite a lot to mention, so first up the 50p Friday thing. Sticking with the on-going field recording vibe, today we have the Flying Scotsman (no, not Alex Salmond). As I'm sure you know it was a record breaking locomotive, this is trackslide and footplate recordings with a really posh man talking sometimes. It's a great "slow" recording of a very fast train. Here it is, 50p for a ride.

Also, there is a new Trunk LP in town. It's Strictly Britxotica! the all new installment of the on-going never ending exotic British recordings album series. This new album focusses in on crazy cha cha chas and super mad mambos. One of my all time faves is "Cha Cha Pop Pop" which goes "Cha Cha Pop Pop". This really is a charismatic and dancey album (yes, it's great to dance about to, cook to, to wash up with and to drink cocktails alongside) and can be bought for an absolute bargain vinyl price right here right now. I suggest you buy it now and put on your dancing shoes for the weekend.

In other news this week I have been asked to identify music from two things and have failed. So, can you help? Music from this Chanel advert directed by Ridley Scott? And title music from this TV series, starring a young and hairy Phil Daniels? Any ideas please let me know. Both cues might be library. But then again they might not be.

And finally - and I know it's not Christmas - but I've been sent this incredible version of The Wizard Of Oz, totally and fanatically edited into aphabetical order (so it's now called Of Oz The Wizard). It's worth watching - obviously not the whole thing - and it's really quite bonkers and mesmerising if you jump to words like Munchkin, Oz, home, off, witch, yellow etc. You can see Of Oz The Wizard right here

I'm now going to put a wash on.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
