Hello there, I hope you are well.

As promised, it's now "next week" and I have news of the latest Basil Kirchin LP. This is a sampler, called "Basil Kirchin Is My Friend". It includes both unreleased and released material, as well as Basil talking in his kitchen when I went to see him before he died. He wanted to tell me loads of things about how he approached music and wanted me to record them all, so I did. 

The tracklisting includes superb and mesmerising Basil field recordings, takes from The Shuttered Room, Rank Xerox, The Mutations, a classic Charcoal Sketch, Assignment K, some jazz, Silicon Chip and more besides. You can see it all here. 

More importantly (for many) the first 200 copies are all on clear vinyl and are only available to the mailing list massive. They are not for sale on the website yet, as I am resorting to old fashion mail. So, if you would like one, please follow these simple instructions:

Find yourself £20 in notes. This is for one clear vinyl LP and includes postage in the UK.

Find yourself a pen and a piece of paper. On the paper please write your i) name, ii) your address iii) please then write that you would like Basil Kirchin to be your friend and then iv) please draw something to do with field recording. This could be a microphone, a bird, the sea, a train, Chris Watson, you get the idea. It really does not matter how good or bad this drawing is. The ones picked out by my children will get the LP free.

Anyway, once you have done this, wrap up the £20 in the piece of paper, put it in an envelope and send it to the following name and address:
