Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty OK here. I spent the evening Djing at my chum's gallery opening. He has started "Let It Gibbon", and has tens of thousands of old 1970s and 1980s original tee shirt transfers. You can go to the gallery now and either make straight forward tee shirts, or cut up loads of different transfers to make anything you fancy (so Funky Gibbon / Punk could make Punky Gibbon etc). It's really good fun. He is open today and all this weekend 12 - 6pm at The Muse, 269 Portobello Road. You can buy tees there or take your own garments to customise. Great if you have kids...

And yes, on the subject of kids it's still the Summer holidays so I've been trawling museums, parks and even went to a safari park this week and saw bears up a tree. This has nothing to do with today's 50p Friday album, although there is a wombat on it. Yes, it's an Australian soundtrack album simply called On Camera, and was the music made by the famed jazz folks of the period - Don Burrows, John Sangster and Judy Bailey when they had a TV show - where they could hang out and play jazz. Great idea for a show! Some mighty fine covers can be heard along with the wombat - the LP can be found here.

This week I also went to Chrome And Black with one of my kids who is showing a vague interest in Graffiti. I have showered him with early graffing images, books and classic films and docs, including the outstanding Watching My Name Go By, the first ever graffing film and book. I think the film may have been rescored on that link (the use of Spacing Out by The Invaders is pretty unusual for the time), and if anyone knows what the track that starts at 11.55 is can you let me know. Incidentally, it was edited by David Gladwell, who went on to make loads of cult odd stuff.

I'm now off to have a chat with a seven year old about what they'd like to do today APART from watching stupid people on YouTube open boxes of toys.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
