hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty groovy here, although 1) the weather is horrid and 2) I feel slightly under the weather which is not me at all.
Last night I was thinking about today's 50p Friday recording and have no idea why I have plumped for transport. Old transport. No, not the sound of horses and carts, but trams. Sheffield trams. I have always been a fan of railway, car and ship recordings, trams are a natural mechanical part of that, but you don't come across their recordings very often at all. This particular recording is a historical one from Sheffield circa 1954 and has definite ambient qualities. So, today I suggest you drift back to Sheffield seven decades ago - all aboard the 50p Friday album here.
Sticking with transprt of sorts, I was sent this brilliant biker film in the week. It's a short documntary about "The Norfolk Outcasts". It's in the same style as the classic London Hells Angels film I linked to a few years ago where they all go and watch Dr Who on a barge, but this is a Norfolk Chapter with benefits issues from the early 1970s. Total class.
I have to rush off now and take my wife to Haggerston. There's a joke there somewhere but I'm not going to tell it.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
