Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's all groovy here.
Firstly I must explain last week's 50p mailing. It was sent out on Friday morning (having been written on Thursday night) and then apparently did not really get sent out even though it was. So then on Monday it was prodded a bit with a digital stick and I think eventually went out on Tuesday. As one member of this mailing list enquired, "did you sent it out with a second class stamp?". So yes, apologies for the confusion.
Today, it's Friday again, and you can be joined by Andy Williams. He's all lonely. Seems like he might have been chucked recently. So this is not the jaunty late 60s easy Andy, this is the more hip jazz standard Andy. Superb songs, some good arrangements, some fine strings and some very fine performances from the jumper wearing institution. Andy can be found here, and maybe he'll hook up with the woman on the front of the Trovajoli LP.
Yesterday I went to Audio Gold to talk about Hi Fi with Ben who owns the shop. This reminded me of this brilliant thing, to do with Western Electric 15A speakers. These are GIANT modular speakers that were made in the 1920s for use in cinemas. To some audio geeks - especially in the Far East - they are the ultimate hi fi speakers.
And here's a film about hippies, ten years after they became hippies. You might not be able to see this if you are abroad.
I'm now off to the park as I have to baby sit a dog called Eric today.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
PS - I have been asked to plug a small event for two chums - DJ Food and The Simonsound lot. So here it is. I don't normally do this, but they asked really nicely.
