Hello - and a happy new year to you. I hope all is groovy. It's certainly quite groovy here.
Thanks again to all who purchased from Ye Olde Trunk Shoppe over the festive period; items like the Moondog and Miles prints went in minutes - the Woolworths Record Department totes / tee shirts sold out vey fast too and so I will be making more once my screenprinter is back from his exotic holiday.
The 1970s Kate Bush / Jaws / Pink Panther tees also sold well and this has tempted me into a strange new side project for 2018. Last night I started House Of Trunk - or on instagram @houseoftrunk. I've amassed a large collection of rare, enviable and amazing vintage tee shirts from the 1950s to the 1980s - including rock, pop and punk ones, geeky ones, chic ones, hilarious one, peculiar ones and super cool ones (of course) and I will be slowly selling them this year via this new Instagram page. Please follow to see these amazing tee shirts popping up over the next 12 months.
Also, the 50p Friday larks will continue. Today, as has become slightly traditional for January I've put up a small batch of old faves and today this includes weird things like Resurrection The Amplified Bible Of Heavenly Grooves, Helen Merrill and an unusual Kenny Graham EP (with a great version of Caravan) that I don't think I've ever offered before. All the 50p Friday larks can be found here.
Over the festive period I watched very little TV, and very few films. BUT I did watch this about a hundred and fifty times and I've just watched it again this morning such is the joy and laughter it brings. According to legend this was a favorite of Victoria Wood. You just have to watch the first four minutes to see why - it's a perfect atitdote to those January blues.
I'm now off to take the youngest child to school and to walk the little pup, keeping him well away from the angry tracksuit wearing spoilt shitzu that really doesn't like him at all.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
