Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's bloody cold here. I fell over yesterday in the snow. On a pavement. Ouch. And ouch again.

This morning I did start looking about for snowy-based albums to send out for 50p, but then I remembered there is a mass of 50p Christmas albums that are still alive and that sorted all that out. So instead I went to France, and to Les Double Six Of Paris. Masterful vocal harmony group, and today, for you, they are singing Ray Charles. Tres bien indeed. I have also loaded up their first LP (sublime!!!) and some other 50p marvels - including Miles, Riddle and Garcia. All can be found here for 50p.

As for a film clip this week, I was considering a film of people falling in the snow but we've all seen that so here is Evoluon, an amazing and short BBC 2 test film that has some of the best library music placement (loads of Roger Roger) and vocal harmony (like Les Double Six) I have come across for a while.

There are some amazing newly discovered old colour shots of London here by David Granik, including one of Spitalfields in the 1970s, looking more like the 1950s. Amazing.

And I was planning on going the Spitalfields record market now, but the idea of standing in the coldest open-sided building in London looking at freezing records and freezing record dealers is not my idea of fun today. So instead I am heading to HSBC Bank who have shut one of my bank accounts because it "was inactive" even though I withdrew some money from it a week before they shut it.  On reflection, it will possibly be more fun at Spits.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
