hello, I hope all is groovy. It's well groovy here but as we all know Aretha has left the building.
Here she is singing - not lip syncing - one of the greatest songs ever written on the Cliff TV Special in about 1970. Our doggy, "Aretha Frank" goes a bit odd when we play Aretha.
There are two 50p Friday things today simply because the first might be an old one but for the life of me I cannot remember if it is or is not - from the film Blind Date. I saw the UK poster for this on Wednesday and got excited about the music again (it doesnt take much) as it really doesn't sound like any other british film music. The second is something that reared its Hawaiian head yesterday: Hawaiian Room by George Hines And Johnny Coco, which apparently has just sent iTunes into a GIANT legal letter writing spin as there are "words" on the front of the sleeve that ARE NOT on the title of the LP. Both brilliant 50p things can be found here.
In other news I am going camping today, but I think it's more on a glamping level as our old tent fell apart a month ago after 12 years of loyal service and we are yet to replace it. We went to a big camping warehouse at the weekend to look for a replacement, failed to find one but Son Number Two bought a large water bag thing and then flooded the bathroom with it the following evening.
Thanks for listening as always
Jonny
