Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's well groovy here, even the little dog is groovy, having just stolen my bank card and eaten it.

So, it's been an odd week here in the UK. I went on a longish drive from Norfolk to London this week and whilst listening to the radio in the car I heard all about the troubles at HMP Brimingham. Then, that evening I watched The Birdman of Alcatraz, a classic in the Burt Lancaster canon, and then realised there is a 50p Friday that is somewhat relevant, by none other than Lee Hazlewood. Yes, indeed, his first ever single was for a film called Why Must I Die (and no, this is not the most depressing 50p Friday mailout ever) and is a total charmer called "The Girl On Death Row". It's a very rare single, super rare Lee in fact, and all the hallmarks of his later huge impressive catalogue are there. It is here for just 50p.

In other news I was at Spitalfields market yesterday and met a guy I had not seen for a year and he was wearing exactly the same as he was wearing a year ago. We had a chat about what he was wearing again then a chat about Spider-Man and then Spider-Jazz and he immediately recalled this.

After that last full stop I went upstairs for a wee. While I was there I remembered that I'd lent a rare copy of a strange Spanish Spider-Man 7" to Danny from Psychmagik way, way before he was called Psychmagik (actually when he was a graphic designer in West London - he did that Mary Millington sleeve for me in the 1990s), and a few months later when I asked for it back he'd sold it. What a total bastard.

I'm now off camping again, this time in the rain and in Dorset. My children are already asking if there is wifi at the campsite and if I know the password.

Thanks for listening as always.
