Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's groovy here, although my office is a right mess and I've just discovered a leaking radiator, which is not good as I have a feeling it's going to be needed within the next month as the temperature starts to drop.

So, another sad week for nostalgic British culture, Fenella Fielding died, apparently still with her false eyelashes on. She will be missed. I met her on a bus once, and I was lucky enough to get her onto the OST Show (which, incidentally, starts back up this coming Saturday) and she was absolutely hilarious. She told me her favourite recording was Pieces Of Eight, a revue with Kenneth Williams, with a script by Peter Cook and Harold Pinter, music by Laurie Johnson. This is actually today's 50p offering. It can be found here (although the sleeve seems to be invisible until you click through!) alongside Kenneth's first recording, Share My Lettuce.

And this was one of FF's most memorable clips and one that more people talked to her about than anything else.

Earlier this week I bumped into Pete Fowler the artist. He moved to the Walthamstow area a while back and we had a quick chat about Wood Street Market. This was THE place to buy records for many. many years, with stallholders such as "Decca Dave" selling extraordinary vinyl. Pete told me there was a short film made about it. Here it is

Sadly I am not record shopping today. I have far too much work to do and a visit to the glamorous Screw-Fix is in order (for a radiator). However the little doggy is one today and so we will be going to the butcher to get a juicy bone.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
