hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty groovy here, although I am a bit behind on a couple of thing due to "on-line activities". Also, I was lucky enough to go and see Michel Legrand at the RFH this week. What a guy - 86 years old and still a demon on the piano.

Firstly, anyone who had diffculty in downloading Fenella and Pieces of Eight last week please drop me an email. For some daft digital reason some of the files did not download, so contact me and I will send the files over.

This week we are going all jazzy, specifically all afro-jazzy and latin jazzy with a great LP by percussion GOD Mongo Santamaria. I first came across Mongo in my teens at the Electric Ballroom Jazz / Boogie room where tracks by Mongo would get dropped and dance troups like IDJ would go mental. This album - his second - simply called Mongo includes an amazing line up of fellow musical monsters (Willie Bobo, Paul Horn, Emil Richards etc), and also opens with what was to quickly become his jazz standard, "Afro Blue". The amazing Mongo can be found here for 50p along with a mass of other stuff.

This week I got sent several unusual things to watch. This one, even though it has been watched over 11 miliion times had completely passed me by. I reckon I've watched it a million times since it was sent to me on Tuesday. This might explain why I am behind on a "couple of things".

I'm now about to walk the dog, go to the post office to send off the OST prizes for last Saturday (competition was to mix cakes / bread with film / film stars - winner "Sylvester Stollen") and then come home and get on with some proper work until I have to go and collect my youngest at 3:15 when I will get shouted at for forgetting a snack again.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
