Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty groovy here, although I do have a lot of post to get through thanks to The Conversation OST LP mailout this week. The album will be for sale on the Trunk website next week, and in shops a couple of weeks after that. So far it seems like the "Harry Caul Seethrough Silver Mac" coloured vinyl has gone down well.

So, to today's 50p Friday album, This one has happened because I was watching Platoon earlier this week (cheery movie that one) and of course had forgotten people like Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker were in it. I actually fell asleep dribbling half way through, possibly even sooner than that, but of course got the full wack of Barber's "Adagio For Strings". I have a recordng of that in my catalogue, one of the earliest and I think best - by Vladimir Golschmann, and it is now available along with three other fine contemporary classical "numbers" from the same period. Yes a mightly fine, sensible and moving listen awaits. The 50p Friday page is here

This week I got stuck briefly into something less sensible - another web of weird old TV advertising, all thanks to someone sending me this ace crisps advert. The natural progression for me was to find this, which is full of odd cheesy things, including a most memorable advert for Just Musk with a spectacular voice over by Pat Coombes that I used to repeat often as a child (and still do occasionally as an adult when the right moment arrives).

If you are coming to the KPM All Stars concert on Saturday come and say hello. I will be easy to spot. Also there are about 20 tickets left at Spiritland for Sunday evening's chat with Hawkshaw, Cameron and Bennett!!!

I am now off to the Spitalfield Record Fayre to get really filthy, followed by a long stint at the post office and then it's home to press creases into my flares for Saturday nite!

Thanks for listening

Jonny
