Morning, I hope all is groovy. It's quite groovy here, I had the mother-in-law over last night and had a deep discussion about her "squirrel knitwear". I possibly stepped out of line admitting to her that I had always thought she tried to communicate secretly through her choice of knitwear throughout Autumn, Winter and early Spring. There will be more about knitwear in subsequent mailings.

Today's 50p offering goes backwards a bit as it's all about Michel Legrand. RIP Michel last week. He was my hero, the man who really cemented my love of film music in the 1980s. Just after Mancini. So I've just put up his two records that I can offer as downloads plus some other French larks. All can be found here.

And here is Legrand hanging out with Elis Regina - sadly there are very few old Legrand videos out there.

There are a small number (ten each in fact) of the Moondog and Our Price tees back in ye olde shoppe - this is because some people got sent the wrong ones over Christmas and I had to make some more to cover it. There are also ten extra Kes LPs as they all sold out last week pretty fast and some of the people in the USA on this list got a bit narked.

Thanks to those who came to the all new South Bank Spiritland on Sunday for the joyous Jonny Trunk and Martin Green 5 hour library music set. On reflection it seems to be a perfect time and setting for such a thing. We are doing it all over again on Sunday 24th February. The Kale Saag they serve is awesome too.

I'm now off to an archive in the Docklands to scan documents. For once I am missing the Spitz Record Fayre. Last time I went I had a chat with the great Darren. I've known him for many years. He has a shop in Peckham. l've bought tons of records from him over the years. He told me that his prized record collection, the private one he'd amassed over 40 years of collecting - basically his pension (a million pounds worth we reckoned) - had all gone up in smoke in the recent Croydon warehouse fire. He was remarkably philosphical about the disaster.

And so we don't end on a sad note for this particular 50p Friday mailing here is an otter sliding in the snow.

Thanks for listening.

Jonny
