hello, I hope all is groovy. Pretty groovy here but I have had to leave home early to get to Norfolk to go and see my uncle, who is suffering from Altzeimers. He is 85, in a different nursing home from last time but still just outside Norwich and apparently he has gone all "sexy" (anyone seen Bad Granpa?), has had several trysts with ladies at the home, but has also pushed some of the other men over. Should be an interesting visit.

In other news I had a brilliant email this week from Arlene, who actually turned out to be Keith, who has been searching for the Polynesia LP for many years and was thrilled to get it finally on vinyl. Keith filled me in on the murderous side of the LP, but also had some rare info about the origins of the album. Apparently the original sleevenotes are all a bit of sham, and A.I. Grove was a made up person, there were no ancient manuscripts that were translated and it was all new prose written by the producer, who fancied himself a bit as a beat poet, by all accounts. Great story and thanks Keith.

There is a 50p Friday album today, called Sweet And Dry. By frank Cordell. He scored lots of films, is very much overlooked these days as a clever arranger, and this is an album that everytime I play it, I hear something clever and different. Frank should be heard more. So here he is for 50p.

As for a short film this week...this is 54 seconds of mayhem.

By the time you read this I will either be at a disappointing service station somewhere on the A11 or wrestling with my uncle. Or playing him that video I just linked to.

Thanks for listening

Jonny

PS - if you happen to be in Stoke Newington this Saturday evening I am playing biker sounds at the Bolt birthday at 6pm. Free.
