Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's not that groovy here at the moment as I had to go to the dentist yesterday and I am still in pain. Anyway, there are people far worse off than me so I shouldn't complain.
To keep myself distracted from the agony I dug out a rare record. From Frog Island. And it's 50p today. The Frog Island Skiffle Group made just one small EP, supervised by the late, great Alan Lomax. It was a very early release originally on Douglas Dobell's label, and I still can remember when his shop in the West End was open and selling all sorts of jazz and folk and world from the old wooden racks. Anyway, I have always liked this EP, mainly because of the version of House Of The Rising Sun. And now you can hear it for yourself, for just 50p, right here.
A heads up on some dates: 24th November myself and Martin Green play 5 hours of library music at Spiritland South Bank. From 1pm onwards, free to get in. AND 30th November I have a stall at the Indy Label market in Kings X. The plan is to take some of the new releases before they are availble anywhere else.
I'm now off nowhere, instead I have to continue gathering things for 1) the Wrappers Delight final mail out which may well start late next week when the books arrive and 2) the festive season, where I have 2 LPs and a 7" PLUS sundries to get all sorted...one of the sundries does include an egg. But more about that another time. Maybe even next week.
Thanks for listening as always.
Jonny
