HI there, hope all is groovy. Pretty groovy here. Just ran around the park in my 1970s adidias synthetic tracky bums. The ones with the loops for your feet.

It has been an interesting week for lots of reasons, one of them being I bought 102 records. I think 52 of them will make up a strange 50p compilation over the next month or two. I also got a really groovy stapler this week and then lost it between the car and house, which is about a distance of 5 yards.

As for the magical 50p offering this week, I have the mysteries and thrills of The Forbidden Island. You have not been able to hear this before, mainly because it's actually quite a rare little beast. Martin Denny and his merry exotic men take you on a trip to where you are not supposed to really go. Go here to go there for just 50p.

Also, this is the week when I heard that Mathew Wilder's classic Break My Stride (a track I ALWAYS play at weddings) has become part of TikTok folklore and has been streamed / danced over / along to over 60 million times. And that's possibly just this week. So I had to show my kids Matthew Wilder performing the song on TOTP back in 1983. Until they watched this classic bit of BBC nostalgia they were convinced he was a Jamaican man. I'm not going to tell them he was originally in a folk group and issued an LP on Playboy's label. Real name Matthew Weiner.

Also, NIcholas Parsons left us this week. He has been around all my life, from Sale of the Century (Quiz of the week) to weekly radio. What a guy.

I'm now off to see my mother, who had her head operated on this week.

Thanks for listening as always
