Hello, I hope all is well. It's not bad here. Kids going back to school next week. I'm thinking of going back to bed in a minute. I'm not actually but I might have a lie in tomorrow.
There will not be a 50p mailing this week, instead next week there is a new Trunk LP for sale and a new Trunk badge and a new "checkout" on Greedbag. I can barely contain myself. But this week there has been high drama in the road. A "swampy" style protest at trees being felled - this is happening a lot in Hackney, we lost "The Happy Man Tree" recently and now because of a questionable (cut and paste style) survey a very large 150 year oak has had a preservation order lifted and may well be for the chop. I don't live in a particularly green area but we do have some old and very lovely trees - in fact they form an important nature corridor here (this is a new expression I have just picked up) and I am a big fan of bats, birds, squirrels and just trees in general. So, my neigbours are desperately trying to save the tree and get funding for the right report that will prove that the original survey condemning the tree was a load of old rot.
Here is the page they have set up, We are getting there - if you can spare your 50p or more this week please help save the trees. Incidentally, the guy at the council who is looking out for the local trees / nature corridors is called Russell. And there's another bloke involved on the tree survey side of things, and his name is, wait for it, Leif.
In other news I have watched this man electrocute himself several times now. He is absolutely brilliant in so many ways. I love him.
I'm now off to walk the dog, whose current nicknames include 1) little fat pig and 2) Artie Fufkin (the Polymer Records Midwest sales rep brought in to push Spinal Tap in the Chicago area).
Thanks for listening as always
Jonny
