Morning, I hope all is well. All pretty alright here, but was deeply saddened after a week of tragic news to learn that one of the greatest musical songwriters of all time had died.

Bacharach is where everything started for me, hearing an instrumental version of "Do You Know The Way To San Jose" through big cheap catalogue headphones and a terrible black plastic music centre when I was about ten. I will never forget the physical and mental reaction I had at the time, making me play the record over and over again to myself.

Here he is with Andy Williams

Here is Ursula and Sellers with Burt and Dusty

Here is something most people don't know he wrote.

Here is Burt with Cilla.

This is Frank Ocean doing Close To You.

I could go on for hours now but I shall not.

Instead I will tell you that there is no mailout next week as I am away with my lovely wife celebrating her big birthday.

Also, I have a date for the diary. On Sunday April 23rd I am hiring The Mildmay Club (same venue as The Groovy Fayre) to hold a brand new event. Called The Mr Vintage Fayre this will be two floors of vintage clothing, clobber, music, watches, mid century stuff, books, trainers, posters, more clothes, possibly some killer old hi-fi, all sorts for everyone. Free to get in. There will be a slightly better email about this is due course when I am not in mourning. Let me know if you are interested in having a stall.

I'm now off to dig out Burt LPs and singles to share with the dog. We will start with What's New Pussycat

Thanks for listening as always
