Morning, I hope all is well. All good here. It has been half term. We had a family day out playing ping pong with the enfants terribles yesterday. I won. Then we bought pants for the big teen, the ones from uniqlo that allow things not to get too sweaty down there. Called "airism" apparently. All news to me.
Now, tomorrow is the big Groovy Fayre. I will have copies of the new super Trunk LP - Wonders Of The Underwater World for sale. Not only is this an amazing LP, originally recorded in 1981 by Jezz Woodroffe (former member of Black Sabbath) using the same studio equipment as Vangelis had - such as the CS80, but it also includes a special DIY sleeve; we have an AI generated empty seascape and inside the LP is a large sticker sheet with frogmen, fish, a small sub, sharks etc. It was inspired by the classic Action Transfer kits of the 1970s it has been put together and carefully controlled by DJ Food. It is amazing. And because it costs so much to make it is quite limited. If it does get repressed it won't have the stickers. The LP will be for sale on line from me from Monday I reckon.
The Groovy Fayre is free entry from 10am (early bird entry is £5 from 9am), we have two halls of dealers, labels, records, books, vintage tees, sexy postkers and more. And the record fayre goes on until about 4/5pm. Then we have some live music, a music quiz from about 7pm and then sleb DJs until 1am. ALL FREE...at The Mildmay Club N16. See you there. There is also a huge snooker hall with 9 full size tables, darts, pool, three bars with cheap and great beer, good food blah balh blah and maybe even Lawrence from Felt again. And a new book about Futurists. Hell yeah.
In other news I got the teen to make a short Instagram film for the promo of the Underwater LP. After one evening he'd broken the camera and shorn off the end of the tripod. A few days later we tried again. He used my phone this time. And made something quite charming. See Instagram in the next day or so.
As it is Halloween next week I have put the remaining Pop Trumps Horror Soundtracks up at half price. They can be found here.
And talking of horror, last night I finished this week's Patreon Show which has a bit of scary folk on it. Here is some less scary folk, rare colour footage of Pentangle on telly.
I'm now off to get the LPs for tomorrow and prizes for the music quiz ready and all loaded up for tomorrow. I cannot think of a funny line to finish with as I am just too busy and excited.
Thanks for listening as always
