Morning, I hope all is well. All groovy here, all back to school. Rain.
Teen one is still on the cookery course. This week - the first week - he has learnt how to dice a carrot. And then turn another carrot into a flower. And make soup. Winter is already looking good. Also, keeping with the foody theme, the orchard picking last week brought in a big bag of damsons and a bag of victoria plums. I put the resulting damson jam (made by a woman at the reservoir) with some ice ream last night. Delicioso.
In other news there very little news at all. I licensed a weirdy private folk LP made in Suffolk and a strange religious one too that sounds like a Scott Walker LP, but more about them another time.
It is now just one month until the Mr Vintage Fayre (6th October), which is a great day out at The Mildmay Club. And less than two month to the Groovy Fayre on November 2nd, I believe there is still a little space left at the Groovy Fayre if you want to come and sell stuff. Let me know.
This week Ron Geesin sent me this bonkers film, which he is in. By the way, he is 81, rapidy heading to 82 and still going like the clappers. Really on it. In fact I'd go as far as saying all over it. He is brilliant, an extraordinary example of how age can mean bugger all if you lucky to keep mentally busy all the time, which he is. I also really believe the music helps.
I'm now off first to Spitalfields Record market. Then I have to get a refill for the sodastream. This should be a very straighforward job but no longer is, since "Max Bubbles" stopped refilling cannisters using dry ice in his front room and flogging them all from a shed in Dalston for half price.
Thanks for listening as always
Jonny
