Morning, I hope all is well. All well here. Apologies for the late arrival of this email but we've had a checkout problem with the Trunk Shoppe which was pointed out last night by some vey keen buyers. I believe the problem has now been resolved.

This was just one part of a rather manic week, which started off in quite a scary fashion when teen one hired a 1974 MK3 Ford Cortina flatbed van and asked me to drive it for him and his mates "for a video shoot" they were doing for a friend who'd made a modern musical track which sounds a bit like Shuggy Otis on smack.

"Sure" I said, having seen a photo of the van, all blue and shiny and very restored looking. Only to find out that it was restored on the outside, but not on the inside. So, no seatbelts (well a strip of black gaffer tape), hardly any brakes, porridge gearbox, moody throttle, questionable steering and a steering wheel taped together, doors that didn't open, no heater, no speedo, no proper lights and quite a lot of other things not happening. It was more like skating than driving. An interesting day with a young rapper hanging out the back miming.

In other less harrowing (for me) news I have sorted the Trunk festive shop! Jonny's 2024 Xmas Sack is now open. So, I have the following:

A new Kirchin unrelased soundtrack. Very limited, Amazing music from a film and a TV series. Only available via the website. One pressing only.

A fine OhWow sweatshirt and and OhWow mirror board poster thing.

Four superb William De Morgan tees and a sweatshirt - a winking owl, bird island, a really funky pelican and the classic grinning red dragon. All on very high quality 100% organic and responsibly sourced garments. They all look absolutely brilliant, charming, fun and dare I say, a bit folky. Great for you, great for pressies, great for me as I have nabbed some for myself. I have to say my printer has done an amazing job.

There is also a really great print / Giclee of the Flip Of Hollwood plastic bag which is very much a nostalgia trip for me and for anyone who was trying to buy old American clothing in the 1980s in a desperate bid to look cool and a bit 1950s. Flip started in Newcastle (still there) but had big shops in Covent Garden and Chelsea. People still talk about those early shops.

And if course there's the 2024 Trunk Xmas mix. Which this years come from all around the UK, Japan, Europe, Jamaica and beyond. EVERYTHING CAN BE FOUND HERE.

Also, I spent a while digging about in various drawers and plans chests and have found some prints that I worked out had come back from a gallery space in 2018 and been fogotten about. These can all be found in the Warehouse Finds section, included are various super cheap super high quality prints of lolly wrappers, gum wrappers, badges and more. There is also a smatterkng of trunk tees found in varous boxes going for a song.

The film this week is an episode of Journey To The Unknown, the one with Basil doing the music. Which is featured on the new album.

I'm now going to go and lie down. And dream of driving a normal working car.

Thanks for listening as always

Jonny
