Morning, I hope all is well. All fine here. However we have now found out that the small hairy dog needs his teeth cleaned which even for a small dog is a major undertaking. And I went to the dentist on Monday (no, not at 2:30) and that wasn't very nice either.
Once again this week I have failed to actually finish anything. I'm currently waiting on sleevenotes, artwork, call backs and more. However I have not been totally unproductive - I do have a new book that has just arrived - it's a wild departure from my usual book style, but more about that next week. It features funny drawings I came across last year.
There are three more up and coming nights when I'm playing lovely old records at The Listening Room - tickets available on the links - I will be playing all original LPs and singles...
i) Killer Covers - me playing super cool and weirdly unexpected cover versions of things - this will be very entertaining for lots of reasons. Thursday 20th March.
ii) French Film Music - new wave, noirish jazz, funny BOFs and all sorts of magnifique sounds from French cinema. Wed 23rd April.
iii) Vocal Harmony Groups - Swingles, Sammes, Alessandroni's choir and way, way beyond. It will all sound magic on that big valve / horn system. Wed 28th May.
Until then here is a film I was sent this week all about the sound and SFX for Supermarionation. A great and quite fascinating little new doc, already up to 21K views in just five days!
I'm now off to meeting but first a whirlwind visit to the Spitalfields Record Fayre, which, going forward, may well be the best way to do it.
Thanks for listening as always
