Morning, I hope all is well. All fine here. I'm slightly hung over as last night was the fundraising football quiz at The MIldmay which included rounds such as "What happened next..." and the new classic "Teeth or Keith" where you had to guess if the close up photo of teeth belonged to a footballer or someone called Keith (Keith Chegwin etc). Brilliant.
Earlier in the week I was lucky enought to go to the sumo wrestling at The Royal Albert Hall. I was pretty obsessed with it when it was originally shown on C4 back in the late 1980s. It was like going back in time to old Japan with wood blocks and quiet ceremony followed by 30st men smashing into each other. The best thing were the men walking onto the ring with banners before each match, this was the advertising. It was so far removed from our new digital lives.
In other news I heard yesterday that the new Ron Geesin horror LP will be in next week. How terrifying!
Don't forget, The Groovy Fayre, 8th. November at The Mildmay Club - from 10am, two halls of record dealers and sellers with LPs, singles, books, tees, xmas decs and more. Followed by a music quiz and dancing until midnight. All free!
Jonny Trunk Morricone special at The Listening Room - 18th November. Tickets available here.
Jonny Trunk Christmas record special at The Listening Room - 16th December. Tickets available here.
I'm now off to try and ignore the cold that I had last week that I thought I'd got rid of that has just come back.
Thanks for listening as always
Jonny
