Morning, I hope all is well. All fine here, very busy what with half term heading my way and giant children everywhere eating everthing including stuff I never knew we had.
Yes. I know this mailing is coming at you a day early but I am leaving tomorrow for the seaside at 5am so won't be around to send off the mailout.
Hot news is that the long awaited Ron Geesin Ghost Story soundtrack LP is in. It's from the 1974 horror oddity which is sometimes called Madhouse Mansion or even Asylum Of Blood. The film stars Marianne Faithful and she was supposed to do some wordless vocals for the score but had lost her voice due to excessive drug use. Apparently. So Penelope Keith stepped in. Anyway, it's a unique and classic Geesin work with old fashioned sound merging with tape loops and modern (for 1974) tech. Limited to just 600 copies, we have 300 in the Trunk shop and that is all, with no repress. You can buy it right here right now.
Here is a funny sci-fi film made by student in Sheffield about the same time the Ghost Story film was made. Far Out.
Don't forget, The Groovy Fayre, 8th. November at The Mildmay Club (only two weeks and a bit away!!) - from 10am, two halls of record dealers and sellers with LPs, singles, books, tees, xmas decs and more. Followed by a music quiz and dancing until midnight. All free!
Jonny Trunk Morricone special at The Listening Room - 18th November. Tickets available here. (First session sold out...)
Jonny Trunk Christmas record special at The Listening Room - 16th December. Tickets available here.
I'm now off to put up some posters for the Groovy Fayre which will be taken down probably by tomorrow morning or will be blown away by Storm Benjamin who has just arrived here.
Thanks for listening as always - there may not be a mailing next week as I might still be at the seaside.
