Hello, I hope all is groovy.
This is the last Friday before Christmas, and so I have decided to put a heap of 50p joy in the Festive 50p Christmas dept. There are eleven different festive LPs and EPs, from classic Christmas jazz to less classic but possibly even more entertaining Santa-based stupidity, including the near legendary (and John Waters fave) "I Know What He Wants For Christmas But I Don't Know How To Wrap it". All can be found here.
I think you still have time to buy bargain things from the Xmas sack as the last post is on Monday.
I'd also like to thank all who squeezed in to a very full Dirty Fan Male on Tuesday. It was a most entertaining night. It all started with Martin Green playing records as people arrived and I got them to their seats / tables. Right in the middle of all this organised seating chaos Martin played this unbelievable single. I had never heard it before - I had to stop helping peoplemand run up and ask him what it was. It's certainly one of the earliest mash ups I have ever come across (1968?!?). I got home in the wee small hours and had to find a copy. No doubt I will be boring everyone with it for the next three weeks.
I'd like to thank you very very much for supporting my label over the last year. It means an awfulk lot to know that there are people out there daring enough to hear music and little way from the mainstream. In fact fans of Galactic Nightmare might be pleased to hear that the release made it into The Vinyl Factory's Top 30 LPs. Alan Jefferson is thrilled. So am I.
And yes, I know I've sent this early but I now have to cook a five kilo ham. Which is 5 hours of poaching, a lot of rubbing and a bit of basting - I have 19 people coming for lunch tomorrow and I only have eight seats - someone might have to sit on the ham. Looks like I might not even have time for the last Spits Record Fayre today.
Thanks again for listening throughout 2015. I wish you a most pleasant and joyous festive few days ahead. See you in the new year, with a heap of new old interesting music.
