hello, I hope all is groovy. It's all fine here in a rushed off my feet kind of way.

Thanks and thanks again to all who appeared at the Basil Kirchin weekender. There was me thinking "there's no way anyone is going to turn up" and in fact people got turned away as events were packed, incredibly well attended and truly joyous, There was a lot of love for Basil. And I really loved Hull. As a result I have left all the Basil 50p music on the 50p Friday page, and there will be a new Kirchin release shortly.

I made a special Kirchin CD sampler for the Hull weekend and I have some left. It includes unreleased music and Basil talking in his kitchen. Copies will be sent to anyone who buys anything physical from the Trunk shoppe. To help matters I have just taken delivery of the tee shirts and sweatshirts I ordered for Christmas which have only turned up now because my printer's heater had gone all moody and didn't want to work much. So there is a mighty late but fine new Trunk tee and new Trunk sweat in many sizes and all in organic cotton. I also have a few Silicon Chip tees too, which I realised were in the wrong place in ye olde Trunk shoppe.

As for the all new #50pFriday album, it's a weirdy fun Disney thing. I tend to buy covers of Disney classics whenever I see them which has led to some disastrous album purchases in the past, but also some absolute joy, like this early album by Fred Waring And His Pensylvanians. He's the man who not only taught America how to sing, but also has the Waring Blender named after him as he backed the inventor. His great versions of classics like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo can be found here.

While we are on the subject of Disney, both this and this quite interesting to watch - classic Disney routines that repeat on a regular basis. I've also been listening to a lot of Roger Nichols this week, and I had no idea that he and Paul Williams wrote this originally for a bank advert. The rest is, as they say, history.

This mailing has been sent to you by a helpful person in Hackney, as I am currently on the M1, on my way to the Midlands. I left at 5am to avoid the traffic. I will find out why I'm going there when I arrive.

Thanks for listening

Jonny
