hello, I hope all is groovy. Pretty groovy here. Slightly hung over again. All my own fault.
I've been watching a bit of the tennis this week. I used to be quite good at tennis but could never afford one of the really hip and very colourful Donnay rackets that everyone had when Borg appeared on the scene. Instead I got a Wilson T 2000 Junior (a kids version of the metal racket Jimmy Connors used to use) in the sale at SupaSports in Farnham. Anyway, the point is the 50p Friday record today is a rare tennis one, with Lew Hoad (an Australian champion) explaining the game and some really posh kids sort of asking questions. It's like a Mr Chumley Warner recording and worth a listen ("it is necessary to have a good pair of shoes?"). The 50p Friday larks are all here.
In other news Part 1) there are more Ernest Berk LPs available as the last lot all sold.
In other news Part 2) it's still hot here and the new tee shirts have arrived! This week I took delivery of a new wave of Trunk tees, including 1) A Corona Fizzical Tee in Orange 2) A Corona Fizzical tee in green and 3) a new Basil Kirchin Tape Box tee. Yes, it;s a tee short made using a Basil Kirchin tape box. I have made about 20 of each, they are all two colour hand screenprinted tees on "natural" cream coloured shirts. There will be no reprinting as the screens have already been wiped. All tees are here.
A film link this week has come by way of someone on the list who asked if I'd ever seen this Bollywood meets Wicker Man kinda thing. I hadn't.
I'm now off on a short tour of East, West and Central London in search of hot vinyl via the Regent's Canal. And maybe a hot old shirt. Anything found will be posted on instagram. But hidden from my wife as I'm no longer adhering to the "one in one out" rule.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
