Hello, I hope all is groovy. It's pretty groovy here. As you know I went to see my uncle last week, it was a good, long and constructive visit to see this 84 year old (randy) ex-farmer with slight dementia, who now fancies standing as the MP for North Walsham.
In other news there is a new stock of Polynesia available as the last lot all went. I managed to get just 30 more copies. They are here.
There is a groovy little 50p Friday offering today too, a record I found on my travels this summer - a rare 7" by the legendary Shake Keane and his Fivetet. Called "Nursery Blues" it features two cues, my fave being the lively and skippy "Ruanda". He was a great composer as well as being a fine brass man and there is an unusual keyboard along the way too. It's amazing to think after many years of looking for British jazz there are still records I have never heard of and have never come across before still waiting to be dug up. Shake can be found here.
As for a short film this week I thought some education was in order, and I came across this superb Carl Sagan Earth Is Round thing. It's worth watching for the bit when he gets the little flexible model out. Awesome. Carl can be found here. He's still sounding dead cool decades later.
I'm now off to the Spitlafields Record Fayre. You may well be working and be for to busy to come too, but to be honest you are not missing that much - a little dry humour, some terrible clothing decisions and everyone is called Dave. And all the boxes that say "new stock" are all telling lies.
Thanks for listening
Jonny
